One of the things that David Arquette is reported to express to the world in US Magazine, is his recognition of what matters now. And I want to be in support of this. Bless this guy for achieving one year in sobriety!
One of the challenges we have in achievement of personal goals of any measure is the lingering guilt over our actions in the past. It’s almost like we expect people to come rushing to the door and say “Oh no you don’t! You don’t deserve anything different from the usual!”
What David has probably figured out by now is that other people have lives of their own. Whatever thoughts of guilt or remorse that take up space in a person’s head are not going to be kept track of by even the closest of family members and friends. So in the big picture, guilt is just another unpublished story.
